Amy Turnbull is an artist and an educator. She draws on neurology and psychology to understand how we perceive and process visual information. Her interest in the history of self-portraiture reflects changing cultural conceptions of self over time, and how digital media influence current representations of self.

Turnbull holds an MFA in Craft from the Oregon School of Art and Craft.  She earned an MAT with a focus in Art Education from Lewis and Clark College, and a BA in Anthropology from Stanford University. She is a member of Blackfish Gallery and currently teaches in the MAT program at Lewis and Clark College.
